Slogik/Ressegger Take HCBL Weekly Awards for Week 1

The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League saw a lot of outstanding play in the first week of the 2026 season. Two outstanding student-athletes stood out and were recognized in the HCBL Weekly Awards for Week 1.

Nick Slogik (Rowan College at Gloucester) of the Southampton Breakers was selected as the Pepsi Player of the Week while Eric Ressegger (Adelphi) of the Riverhead Tomcats was named as the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week.

Slogik, a second-year Breaker hit .583 for the week with a pair of home runs and six RBI wile batting 7-for-12. Slogik homered for Southampton on Opening Day against the Sag Harbor Whalers on June 12th and hit his second home run of the week on June 17th against Shelter Island in a 10-0 Breakers win.

Ressegger, a native of Rockville Centre, earned the win for Riverhead on Opening Day against Westhampton pitching 3.2 innings of scoreless relief only allowing two hits. In his first start of the season on June 16th against North Fork, Ressegger threw 5.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

Ressegger finished Week 1 with an ERA of 1.93 and is currently 3-0 on the season after a win on June 20th against Shelter Island.

The HCBL weekly awards are voted on by the league’s six head coaches each weekend.
