Sag Harbor Whalers to Host Finance and Real Estate Career Program

The Sag Harbor Whalers will give their players an opportunity to look beyond the baseball field during a special Finance and Real Estate Day on Tuesday, July 14, at the Sag Harbor Inn.

The two-hour program will introduce players to the wide range of career opportunities available in finance, real estate and related professional fields. Players will begin by sharing their schools, academic years and the careers they may be interested in pursuing.

Guest speakers will then discuss how they entered their respective professions, how their careers developed and what they might do differently if they were starting over today. The goal is to give players an honest, practical introduction to several possible career paths and help them understand how to begin building the experience and relationships needed to enter those fields.

Topics will include buy-side and sell-side finance, sales and trading, mergers and acquisitions, research, operations, compliance, management and real estate. The discussion will also cover careers in institutional and retail sales, accounting and management consulting.

The program reflects the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League’s commitment to supporting its student-athletes both on and off the field. While players spend the summer developing their baseball skills, events such as this provide valuable exposure to professionals, industries and career opportunities that can help shape their futures after college.

The program will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Sag Harbor Inn, 45 West Water Street in Sag Harbor. Breakfast will be provided by Goldberg’s.
