New HCBL Playoff Format Brings Three Days of Postseason Baseball.
The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League postseason will have a new look this summer, with all six teams advancing to a three-round, single-elimination tournament.
Playoff action begins Friday, July 24, and concludes with the HCBL Championship Game on Sunday, July 26.
Teams will be seeded No. 1 through No. 6 based on the final regular season standings and the league’s established tiebreaking procedures. The top two seeds will receive first-round byes and automatically advance to the semifinals.
Friday’s opening-round matchups will feature the No. 3 seed against the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed against the No. 5 seed.
In the semifinal round, the No. 1 seed will face the lowest-seeded remaining team, while the No. 2 seed will play the other first-round winner. Original playoff seeds will remain in place throughout the postseason.
The two semifinal winners will meet Sunday in a single-elimination Championship Game, with the winner crowned the 2026 Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League Champion.
Unless otherwise determined by the league, the higher-seeded team will serve as the home team in each playoff game. Final seeds, matchups, game times and locations will be announced following the conclusion of the regular season.
