Breakers Shut Out North Fork Behind Raho’s Solid Pitching

The Southampton Breakers defeated the North Fork Ospreys in a game that was moved from Cochran Park in Peconic to Southampton High School because of weather by a score of 7-0 on Tuesday.

Luke Raho (West Chester) in his second appearance on the mound for Southampton this season, pitched five shutout innings allowing just four hits with four strikeouts and a walk as he held the North Fork bats in check.

Southampton would get on the board in the top of the second scoring two runs in the inning. The Breakers got their first run in the second on a double steal that scored Nick Slogik (Rowan College at Gloucester) and later went up 2-0 on a sacrifice fly hit by Aidan Colasante (Harvard).

Southampton would break the game open in the top of the fifth scoring five runs in the inning with two-run singles by Zach Khozoian (Harvard) and Owen Beatrice (St. John’s).

Charles Stricker (West Chester) pitched the final two innings for Southampton in relief of Raho and would only allow one hit while striking out three Osprey batters with no walks.

North Fork and Southampton will play against each other again on Wednesday at Southampton High School this time with Southampton playing as the home team.
