Slogik/Kostulias Win Final HCBL Weekly Awards of 2026
In the final week of the 2026 HCBL regular season a pair of student-athletes were recognized for their great play right before the HCBL postseason.
Nick Slogik (Rowan College of Gloucester) of the Southampton Breakers was named as the Pepsi Player of the Week for Week 6 while Jesse Kostulias (New Haven) of the Westhampton Aviators was selected as the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week in Week 6.
Slogik hit .454 in the final week of the regular season and had his best game of the season on July 17th against the Riverhead Tomcats where he went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBI. Slogik finished the regular season hitting .403 for the Breakers with five home runs and 23 RBI finishing in the HCBL top five in both categories. It is the second time this season that Slogik has been named Pepsi Player of the Week having won it previously back in Week 1.
Kostulias went five innings in his final start of the regular season for Westhampton on July 17th where he pitched five shutout innings against the Sag Harbor Whalers allowing only one hit with seven strikeouts and three walks in a 7-0 Westhampton win. Kostulias finished the regular season with a 2-0 record in 21.1 innings pitched with an ERA of 3.38.
The HCBL weekly awards are voted on by the league’s six head coaches each weekend.
